Soil for Soil Factory

Nadine Duncan asked 6 months ago

I live in an apartment and don’t have live soil to start a soil factory. Could I use potting soil in the bag like Miracle-Gro as an example?

No, this will not work.  Store bought soils are sterile and void of life, so there are no organisms to process the bokashi precompost.  Keep in mind that in a soil factory we are trying to mimic nature, so you NEED live soil for the assimilation and soil building process to happen.  Healthy garden soil will be teeming with the microbial life that is required.  If you use store bought soils, then the material will rot, and the process will fail.
