Bokashi odor with lid closed

Hello from France! I bought a second-hand bokashi and that it can smell when you open it. But even when it’s closed, it smells like the starter. The odor seems to come from the lid itself.
I haven’t found any info about this. Could it be normal? Maybe the lid is cheap plastic that absorbed the smell?

Sometimes the bins can absorb an odor after they’ve been used. However, with our bins the odor will not come through to the outside of the bin. If your used bin is airtight, then it is good to use.
