Bokashi Fermentation Process – no white mold is appearing
The most important way to know if your bokashi has been successful is by using your nose. If your food waste smells sweet and pickly (as you say yours does) then everything has worked perfectly. White mold may (or may not) be visible in a successful bucket. As long as you have the sweet fermented smell (and no blue or green mold) then you are ready to bury your bokashi pre-compost.
