Bokashi compost and cover crop

I love my bokashi compost. I also plant cover crop (winter / summer crop)

In which order it is better to do: Plant cover crop, let it grow, than place fermented pre-compost or opposite – fermented pre-compost and after that plant cover crop?

Thank you!

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for your question. The best order would be to add your bokashi before you plant your cover crop. This way your soil food web will start to benefit from the bokashi pre-compost whilst your cover crop is growing.

Remember that your garden will benefit from both the cover crop and the bokashi. Whilst adding the bokashi first is the preferred approach, the order isn’t too crucial.

Hope that helps.
